Blog Post 7

I know I am supposed to pick a quote or piece of the text that I found interesting, but the whole aspect of chapter 2 confuses me.
There are many distortions in the story telling, and it does not seem to have any continuity but it seems to go backwards. I understand it is just a story but what is the reasoning to story telling in this way, I was even confused by the spark notes. As the section of our reading progresses some aspects clear up but the change in continuity still confused me, also it seems the people in this story live for a very long time and I cannot really even tell the actual time period of this story.
One thing I do really enjoy though is how Marquez shows an interesting level of reality, showing issues with the main characters and at the same time explaining the larger issue with the civil war that was illustrated. The style of writing in this novel however, really leaves me more and more confused than anything.
