"the innocent yellow train that was to bring so many ambiguities and certainties, so many pleasant and unpleasant moments, so many changes, calamities, and feelings of nostalgia to Macondo."
I feel like after this small excerpt many of the lives in Macondo is going to change whether for the better or worse. The addition of new technologies and beliefs to the town is going to change it dramatically in my opinion. The characters we have been following for some time now will have to decide whether they want to adapt to the new changes in the town or fight against it and keep their nostalgia and old memories, since there is such a large amount of detail put into how the people in this novel lose their memories through solitude, they are now going to get a new way to lose their memories through over stimulation of new information. The town they new before is not going to be anything like they once thought it was, new people, technology, beliefs and changes in attitudes will shape the rest of the town and the characters fates.
