Blog Post 10
After reading the first two scenes of act 1 my main question of these events is, are the actions towards Othello justified or just actions by Iago out of jealousy. We learn that Othello is a general who Iago serves but Iago's actions are all driven through self-interest and hatred towards Othello. The actions by Roderigo as well seem only in self-interest and seem to go straight for Othello's personal life. Also, even Brabanzio claims Othello used magic to seduce his daughter which all seems far fetched. I feel that a lot of the actions directed towards Othello are through other character's self-interest rather than actually doing these things because Othello is a bad character.
