Blog#4 Atonement

Part two changes from a girl's naive and innocent perspectives to a more cruel adult world. The narratives becomes more plot twisting. And the part that Robbie is stuck and striving to live in Dunkirk is quite impressive. The War is so cruel and hopeless. Robbie finally reunions with the main troops but the what is left for him is the endless delay of the returning. I never bear to see the movie Dunkirk when it was published. I can even imagine the pain and despair of the soldiers who are waiting for a almost impossible ship that picks them back home, not to mention the ship which just sailed and immediately blown up by cannon.
Briony also suffers through the war, except her guilty towards her sister and Robbie. She used to be the girl who wants all eyes on her. However, as a nurse during wartime, she even couldn't introduce herself with her first name. She only can be called nurse Tallis, and there is no Briony anymore.
