Gabriel Garcia Marquez is writing in a style called "magical realism," a genre we will talk about a lot tomorrow. I wanted to kickstart your thinking about this and about 100 Years of Solitude in general with another really fantastic Crash Course video on the book featuring YA novelist John Green:

As I work to prepare for tomorrow's class, I'm realizing I am genuinely more excited to talk about this text than any other text we've delved into so far. See you all tomorrow!
